Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Preface

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is playing more dominant role in the advancement of North Western University since the starting. This department has been offering a 4 Year and 3 Year (For Diploma Engineer) undergraduate programs. The 4 Year degree program is spread over twelve semesters with three semesters per academic year and the 3 year degree program is spread over nine semesters with three semesters per academic year. The 3 Year undergraduate degree program has been renamed as 4 Year (Diploma intake) undergraduate degree programs. Both the 4 Year and 4 Year (Diploma intake) undergraduate degree programs are spread over eight terms with two terms per academic year. In the case of 4 Year (Diploma intake) undergraduate program, one term is wavered. The syllabus of this term is included with that subjects which are studied in 4 Year Diploma program.

The department has already established its own laboratories in different development areas such as web applications, mobile applications, and software engineering laboratories. The students also perform their hardware laboratories such as computer hardware and interfacing laboratories along with digital system laboratories.

The aim of this department is to impart the students with up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge of the particular branch of engineering. Consequently, the undergraduate courses offered to the students have been designed considering the courses offered in BUET, KUET, KU, DUET and some foreign universities, keeping in view the ever-increasing horizon of Computer Science and Engineering.
