Preface

The Department of Development Studies at North Western University is the pioneer in rendering development education in Khulna region. The Department started its functioning from, February 2013 under the Faculty of Social Science. The aim of this Department is to offer MDS Program which would be highly valued as an ideal preparation of senior positions both in the public and private sectors nationally and internationally.

The MDS program which is a professional graduate program blends academic theory and professional concepts for preparing students to excel in the challenging work environments or advance development studies. In fact, the MDS program is professional graduate program to develop skills and competencies in an individual for taking effective management decisions in various development related sectors and organizations. Moreover, the program emphasizes to develop students’ ability to evaluate organizational situations that enable them to make informed and creative judgment about policies and operational issues.

The Department is committed to enhance professional knowledge and practices in responsible and sustainable way using it’s locally and globally exposed and experienced faculty members. The Program offered by the Department is designed to provide the means for accelerating progression and promotion, as well as strategic direction plans and changes in career paths. The Department provides its students with a stimulating, challenging and continuously improving learning environment.
