North Western University Chairman Inaugurates Construction Work of Permanent Campus Building

The foundation stone for the new building of North Western University, the first comprehensive private university established in Khulna, was laid, and a Bangali traditional pitha fair was inaugurated.

On Thursday morning, the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the new building was held at the university's permanent campus, located near Rupsha Bypass Road in the Labanchara Thana area. The event was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Dr. Mohammad Sirajul Haque Chowdhury, who cut the ribbon and released balloons and festoons.

In his speech, the chief guest remarked that, as the first private university in Khulna, the institution has already earned national acclaim. He urged students to remain vigilant in bringing greater recognition to the university at both national and international levels.

He further emphasized that the university plays a unique role in expanding higher education in the southwestern region. The foundation stone-laying ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for the university.

The event was attended by notable guests, including the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Md. Rezaul Alam; board members Nahid Newazi, Md. Mizanur Rahman, Syed Hafizur Rahman, and Md. Azizul Haque; Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sheikh Md. Enayetul Babor; Treasurer Professor Kanai Lal Sarkar; Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Convener of the Event Celebration Committee, Dr. Md. Rouf Biswas; Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Md. Inzamam-Ul-Hossain; Proctor Md. Asaduzzaman; Director of Finance and Accounts Rabindranath Datta; Project Director Md. Rezaul Alam; heads of all departments; assistant proctors; students; teachers; and staff members.

Following the foundation stone-laying, a prayer was led by Maulana Abdul Momin Nomani.

Later, the guests visited various stalls at the cake festival, which featured participation from students across different departments of the university. The event concluded with a captivating cultural program.
