Prize Giving Ceremony of Annual Cricket Tournament 2026 Held at NWU

The closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Annual Cricket Tournament 2026 of North Western University was held on Thursday, 14 May in the afternoon at the Mongla Port Colony Ground under Khalishpur Police Station in Khulna.

The ceremony was graced by Kanai Lal Sarkar, Vice-Chancellor (In Charge) of the university, as the chief guest. He officially distributed the prizes among the winners of the tournament.

In the final match, the Civil Engineering Department emerged as the champion team, while the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department secured the runner-up position. The champion trophy was awarded to the Civil Engineering team, and the runner-up trophy was handed over to the EEE team by the Acting Vice-Chancellor.

In addition, Milton, a player from the Civil Engineering Department, was honored with the �Man of the Tournament� award for his outstanding performance throughout the competition.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Hasibul Hossain Sumon, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law and Convener of the Annual Cricket Tournament 2026 Celebration Committee.

Among others present at the event were Farzana Akhter, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies; Md. Mahedi Hasan, Head of the Department of CSE and Member Secretary of the Celebration Committee; Registrar Dr. Sk. Shafiqur Rahman; IQAC Director Md. Anisur Rahman; Proctor Shakil Ahmed; assistant proctors, department heads, teachers, students, officers, and staff members.
